Ikorodu West LCDA number one citizen, Hon Sulaiman Kazeem Olanrewaju popularly called SKO says improving quality of education will continue to be his government’s priority.

SKO promised that more emphasis would be given to improve the Education system at the grasseoot level all through his tenor.

Primary schools are the first stage of formal education usually for children between six and 12 years of age. They (primary schools) represent the foundations upon which the superstructure of education rests. Therefore, high-quality education at the technical colleges, mono-technics, polytechnics, and universities is anchored to robust primary schools. But unfortunately, this age-long reality is yet to be fully appreciated and appropriated by the government including its agencies”

According to him, laying a good foundation for these pupils is very important, especially at the primary level, saying that it will give him the joy to see the children grow to useful adults.

He was speaking during a well attended event as part of his 100 days in office activities where he distributed educational materials to the pupils and schools in the LCDA. He said since inception, his administration has always paid adequate attention to things that would give astronomical development to education at the grassroot.

We will allocate an increasing share of resources to improve learning at the primary level in our effort to reform the educational sector,” he said.

The Council Boss, who interacted with some of the children emphasized the importance of character, in addition to learning, urging them not “to lose sight of the aspirations of the country.”

The Council helmsman posited that in the last 100 days, his administration has brought finesse, dynamism and purpose to governance in the grassroot.

Within the said period, we have raised the stake to an enviable height, with verifiable developmental and people-driven projects dotting the nooks and crannies of the community”.

Speaking with newsmen after the presentation, a former Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA and Apex Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon JBB Banjoko lauded the huge investment of SKO on educational sector in the LCDA, describing Ikorodu West as one of the leading lights in the promotion of education in Lagos State.

The HRO Mr Omoteji commended the Council Boss for prioritising education and giving the sector the prime place as the bedrock of socioeconomic development of the Council, saying that ‘Ikorodu West has become a reference point in Lagos State.’

Push News International can confirm that SKO has sustained the continuous exercise books distribution to primary schools within the local council development Area.10 schools has so far benefited they include PRIDELAND INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, LIVINGSTONE COLLEGE, LOCAL GOVERNMENT PRIMARY SCHOOL,IPAKODO,, LOCAL GOVERNMENT PRIMARY SCHOOL MAJIDUN, C&S PRIMARY SCHOOL 1. MAJIDUN, C&S SCHOOL 2 MAJIDUN, UPE PRIMARY SCHOOL AJAGURO, ANGLICAN PRIMARY SCHOOL ISAWO, COMMUNITY PRIMARY SCHOOL ITOWOLO and TOGEDEJOYE PRIMARY SCHOOL.
