2023 : AMUWO ROYAL FATHERS PARLEY NDIGBO AS DOSUNMU APPLAUDS MEETING OUTCOME
A gathering of Ndi-Igbo, made up of those presiding over the affairs of Igbos residing in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency led by its leader, Eze Austin Ojukwu (Eze Ndi igbo, Amuwo Odofin) have met with the indigeneous Traditional Rulers of Amuwo Odofin Indigeneous Communities.

It was thursday 19th of January 2023, when the Council of Oba’s and Chiefs in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, led by Kabiyesi HRM Oba Mobadenle Oyekan (Chairman, Council of Oba’s and Chiefs) met in a strategic parley with the elders and key stakeholders of the Ndi igbo on way forward as the 2023 general elections approaches.
The parley which was not a first of its kind was facilitated by a former Supervisory Councillor and Chairmanship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Captain Adebayo Olaobaoluwaju Dosunmu, a.k.a Akidi Ama Oke of Ndigbo, was aimed at strengthening the existing synergy between the indigenous communities and all tribes towards ensuring victory for the ruling party in the coming general elections in Nigeria and Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency in particular.

The parley which was held at the Amuwo Odofin Council Secretariat was to mobilise Ndigbo residents to throw their weights behind the re-election bid of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Dr Idiat Adebule as Lagos West Senator, Prince Lanre Sanusi(PLS) as House of Representatives and other APC Assembly candidates in Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1& 2.

The royal fathers resolved that the unity, indivisibility and peaceful co-existence of all people in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency was sacrosanct, hence, the need for Ndigbo to support the ruling party towards upholding the trust and fruitful collaboration which is already existing.
The communiqué issued at the end of their meeting had the royal fathers and the Ndigbo Community reaffirming their commitment to the peaceful co-existence of all Nigerians irrespective of tribe, creed and religion.

They also resolved to mobilize their subjects and kinsmen to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) ahead of the February general elections, urging all Igbo in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency to remain in their various wards and vote enmass for the ruling party.
Dosunmu addressing the media on the outcome of the parley says, “We call on the Federal Government and State Government to provide adequate security for all during the elections”.

“We resolved to work for a violence free electoral process in 2023 and to affirm our support and commitment for the election of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for continuity of the transformation agenda in Lagos State”.
“We also agreed that there should be unrestricted communication between Obas and Ndigbo leadership,” Dosunmu said.

In interviews after the meeting, the Ndigbo leaders promised to mobilise support for APC in the 2023 generalelections.
Oba Mobadenle Oyekan, told newsmen that the meeting availed the royal fathers the opportunity to understand more about the thoughts of the Ndigbo and provided a platform to further interact and mobilise for a common front as the election draws near.
