AMUWO : REPS CANDIDATE REITERATES COMMITMENTS TO WOMEN DEVELOPMENT AND ADVANCEMENT

Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate, Prince Lanre. Sanusi (PLS), has reiterated his commitment to ensuring that women in in his Constituency and Lagos State at large are given the much needed incentives and atmosphere to thrive and attain a new level of social status if he is voted to represent them in the Federal House of Representatives.

Sanusi, who was consultung with a group of civil society women groups and petty traders in Oriade LCDA was speaking to the press on why he embarked on such women stakeholders meeting, on Friday.

According to Sanusi, “women are not just home-builders but also community builders, they possess fantastic managerial and leadership qualities which if well harnessed, will be vital tools for nation-building.”

While welcoming hundreds of women into his campaign platform, Sanusi assured them that if given the opportunity to represent the people in the Green Chamber, he will ensure a holistic transformation of women welfare and advancement in the constituency.

The Awori born Prince promised to facilitate proper access to quality healthcare system, incorporate more women into the fold, empowering them to be self-sufficient and also ensuring they are well represented in the political cum leadership roles.

It is passion that is driving me, I am not going there to advance my personal interest or seek personal glorification, all I want is an opportunity to impact lives and make a positive history,” he said.

I am guided by the belief that the equality of women and men is not only a desirable social condition but a spiritual truth, our Office will collaborated with a wide range of civil society organizations and government agencies to promote gender equality and the advancement of women.”

This critical work includes supporting efforts to eliminate violence against women and girls, to advance the meaningful participation of women in peacebuilding and rethink prevailing conceptions of human security, power and leadership. Men are actively engaged as critical partners in this work, with the understanding that, “As long as women are prevented from attaining their highest possibilities, so long will men be unable to achieve the greatness which might be theirs.” PLS said.
