The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency in Lagos State, held a unity stakeholders meeting in Amuwo Odofin to galvanise unison amongst members and review it’s campaign strategies for its Presidential, Governorship and other positions ahead of the February, 25 elections.
The meeting which had in attendance the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mr Obafemi Hamzat and Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, was summoned by former Minister of State for Defense and GAC member, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro in view of the challenges facing the party’s campaign and progress of all APC candidates in Amuwo Odofin.
Obafemi Hamzat charged APC members in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency to respect party decisions, consolidate on the achievements of the party in Lagos State and ensure that it emerges victorious in the forthcoming general elections. Hamzat charged the leadership to be inclusive in all their approaches as everyone has a role to play towards the party success.
Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, in his address stated that the meeting was for party members to unify all aggreived persons and be intimated with plans, decisions, and strategies on how to be victorious in the forthcoming general elections.
Obanikoro recounted how the efforts of dedicated members at the local government helped the party emerge victorious in the last election even though the party’s performance was abysmally poor, he charged them on the need to represent APC and avoid mingling with opposition parties.
APC Stalwart and former Chairmanship Aspirant, Captain Adebayo Olaobaoluwaju Dosunmu, in his own submission thanked party leaders and members for their continued support for the Presidential bid of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Dr Idiat Adebule, Prince Lanre Sanusi (PLS). Hon Olawestern and Hon Rauf. Dosunmu, a grassroot campaign strategist for Asiwaju in his media response, eulogized Obanikoro for the initiative, stressing that ” that is a mark of a pragmatic leader”.
Amuwo Odofin Council boss, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh appealed to the Candidates and party members to play by the rules, adhere to the decisions of the party and prepare for victory at the election. He assured on victory for All APC Candidates in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.
In similar vein, Oriade LCDA Mayoress, Hon. (Mrs) Ramotalai Akinola-Hassan in a media chat stated that the need to work together is paramount, for her, Oraide LCDA will deliver the needed votes for APC.
When asked about the chances of Asiwaju winning the 2023 presidential election, House of Representative Candidate for Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, Prince Lanre Sanusi popularly called PLS said “Greatness has often been claimed for victorious leaders, and though disputed by some political leaders, there is a general consensus that he (Asiwaju) is one of the greatest progressive leaders Nigeria has seen. In the truest sense he is the “Renewed Hope which Nigeria awaits ”. PLS further stressed that so much has been put in to ensure APC wins for all its candidates.
Briefing newsmen on the outcome of the meeting, APC Chairman, Mr Ayo Ogungbiye said the meeting was called by Sen Musiliu Obanikoro for the stakeholders in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency to meet, discuss and listen to the successes and challenges that they may be facing during the party’s campaign.
“We can’t reveal our campaign strategies, we just met to review our campaigns strategies and to appreciate the efforts of the various campaign teams particularly the PCC and other Independent Campaign Groups ”.
According to him, the APC is doing a great job in their campaigns for its candidates in different areas of the Constituency.
Ayo further said said the meeting was also called to appreciate the various individuals and groups doing so well in the party’s campaign for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC Governorship Candidate in the state and for other candidates.
Mr Ayo however, called on the party members in Amuwo Odofin to sheath their swords and work for the victory of the party.
