Health Center – Engr. Valentine Buraimoh has indeed made his mark- OlaWestern
A state-of-the-art Primary Health Centre (PHC) was, on Wednesday, commissioned by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in FESTAC, Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area (LGA) in LagosState.
The fully equipped healthcare facility is a project of the LGA, which was designed to provide daily health services to an estimate of over 2,000 people monthly Push News 24 International reports. The council named the impressive edifice after the wife of the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
The Chairman of OlaWestern Concrete, Hon Ola Folorunsho in an exclusive interview with Push News 24 International has described the development as a “positive infrastructural turnaround” for residents of the Amuwo Odofin given that the land on which the PHC is built would have just ended as a dumpsite.
Olawestern who was also welcomed by a massive group of supporters to the commissioning ceremony, having just return from the United States of America, said emphatically that ” Engr. Valentine Buraimoh has made a mark with the PHC.
“….The facility would increase access to quality health services for people at the grassroots and further raise the capacity of the Lagos State Government in healthcare intervention and delivery, with this VOB has made an indelible mark in the State”.
The House of Assembly, Constituency 1 hopeful said the delivery of a fully equipped health centre by the council showed how leaders at the lowest tier of Government could strengthen the State Government’s development drive, urging council chairmen across the State to replicate similar projects in their communities for more positive impacts.
He said: “I am humbled to be part of this project from the beginning to the commissioning, this first class healthcare edifice, which was fully undertaken and delivered by the chairman as a semi- secondary PHC is a win for my Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1 residents. This speaks to the modest effort being made by the Council towards improving lives of our people at the grassroots. The quality of project delivered has challenged us as a party and Government on the need to bring up projects that will only benefit people at the grassroots level, and one that will transform their lives”.
“This is another demonstration that good governance at lowest tier is pertinent to accelerating socio-economic development. There must be collaboration between Local Councils and State Government to further enhance service delivery and make people in local communities to feel the impacts of the Government. I must commend the leadership of Amuwo Odofin LGA led by Engr. Valentine Buraimoh for this befitting health centre that will serve our people.”
The Assembly aspirant said the decision of the council officials to name the PHC after Senator Tinubu was appropriate, given the developmental impact she had made in the State and across the nation.
Olawestern told Push News 24 International: “we stand today as a party in fulfillment of our electoral promises of making life more meaningful for our people. We are indeed very delighted Amuwo Odofin LGA is able to show the entire world developmental projects that have direct and positive impact on the lives of the people.
“The impact and benefit of this health centre will not only be felt by the people in our LGA alone, but also residents of Oriade LCDA and other local council around us will also benefit from the services that will be provided here.”
Push News 24 International reports that the role of the Primary Health Care (PHC) is an essential part of health care and its main principles are equity, health promotions and disease prevention, community participation, appropriate health technology and multi-sectoral approach.
