2023 : AMUWO ODOFIN MUSLIM COMMUNITY PAYS SOLIDARITY VISIT TO PLS
As the 2023 general elections draw near various stakeholders have continued to play key roles in shaping the direction in which the outcomes of the elections will go.
Latest amongst key stakeholders who made a significant moves recently is the Muslim Community of Amuwo Odofin LGA, who made a solidarity visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC), House of Representatives Candidate, Prince Lanre A. Sanusi (PLS).
The Islamic Sect who were led by their leaders commended APC for presenting PLS as the preferred House of Representative candidate for Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency for the 2023 general election.
The group speaking through its leader openly declared support for Sanusi stressing that “his choice was timely and Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency can’t wait to experience the needed legislative responsiveness and infrastructural development in the FESTIVAL town”.
The Islamic Faith Based Group commended PLS for his “broadmindedness”, and inclusiveness as he consults with all stakeholders, saying PLS name will be engraved in letters of gold for not ignoring the “logical, rational and explicable strategy of reaching out to all stakeholders in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency”.
According to the Group “A major significance of PLS endorsement by the Muslim Community is that he is capable of uniting both Muslims and Christians because he is not a religious bigot”
While the Sect owes the views that religious bodies should not interfere directly in the murky waters of politics they equally believes religious institutions have a major role to play in the socio-political orientation and education of their members.
Appreciating the visit of the Muslim Community, PLS said “Politics should be guided by the ethics and values of our religion without any form of discrimination. As stakeholders you have a role to play in the socio-political orientation of the voters so as to avoid apathy”.
Sanusi thanked the Sect for the endorsement of his candidature and promised to live by the good tenets of morality and empathy in leadership as provided in the Holy books, he further advise them to go pick up their PVC and vote for all APC Candidates.
