Push News 24 International spoke with the Mayoress, Hon Ramotalai Akinola-Hassan to get some clarity on this.

She said, “Endorsement is a normal thing in a multiparty democracy. It isexpected that when credible organizations or people who are opinion leaders endorse any candidate it would help to shape the opinion of those who may be undecided. There are people who have followers and admirers that take their opinion very seriously. So, when those people go out of their way to endorse a candidate, their followers and even those they may not know admire their opinions, may likely say, because such a person has endorsed the candidate, they would follow that candidate. That is the extent endorsement can help.

Push News 24 International reports that no fewer than over 1500 key stakeholders, community leaders, party Stalwarts and groups were present at the endorsement event.

CLAMPS CONSTRUCTION: SANUSI (PLS) COMMENDS ORIADE COUNCIL BOSS, ADVOCATES FOR MORE STANDARD MARKETS

All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 House of Representatives Candidate, Prince Lanre A. Sanusi (PLS) has showered encomiums on the Chairperson of Oriade LCDA, Hon. Ramotalai Akinola-Hassan as she commissions over 500 Kee Klamp shops at Ijegun-Egba.

PLS as he is fondly called praised the feat as that of a deliberate effort to affect the lives of the people thereby boosting ease of markets activities and revenue generation. Lauding the council boss, saying that her administration despite scarce resources had taken the   dividends of democracy to the very nooks and crannies of the local government area.

The Awori born Prince while speaking with Push News 24 International, has said Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency needs more standard markets to help relocate roadside sellers and also grow Lagos economy.

PLS while making a case for market women/men said it is time to prioritise market developmental infrastructures in the society so as to ensure rapid growth in the country’s economy.

He said, “We now have no other option than just help our small market owners boost their businesses, definitely this will contribute largely to our GDP. Petty traders have evolved grassroots associational strategies to meet modern demands on livelihoods. The growth in urban populations has been accompanied by limited job creation amongst the poor, hence, the need to support our market infrastructures”

Sanusi explained that market infrastructures are targeted at easing the struggle to own petty traders and help increase trading points

While commending members of staff and management of the Oriade LCDA, Sanusi said he can’t appreciate the workers enough for their dedication toward the many successes that the LCDA have achieved since the Council boss took over leadership.

Push News 24 International findings reveals that the proliferation of informal sector mainly petty traders in most peri-urban areas
can be interpreted as an unhealthy symptom of economic underdevelopment. Inability of urban authorities to absorb the massive numbers of rural migrants into formal sectors is said to be factors that contribute to petty activities. Employment problems and low incomes, as well as an increase in the number of migrants and refugees are reasons for the growth in the petty trade sector.

Little attention has been paid to support petty activities and solve critical question by local and central government to manage Petty trade environment elements, management of all strategies effectively, as a result, the effort of Petty activities to provide massive numbers of youth opportunities in the local government is little known despite it provides massive number of youth Employment.
