KANO : 128 STREET THUGS “YAN DABA” ARRESTED, IN POSSESSION OF FIREARMS AND OTHER DANGEROUS WEAPONS

PUSH NEWS 24 INTERNATIONAL: May 5th, 2022

The Kano State Police Command has arrested 128 suspected thugs (a.k.a.’Yan Daba’). To these young offenders, life means nothing. They can kill without hesitation. When a man’s life becomes hopeless, he caress less about the consequences of his actions.

This an embarrassing situation for any society. Breeding youths without a future poses a danger to the very society that breeds them. Without jobs and education, these youths resort to drugs addiction which in turn feeds criminal behaviour.

No society that is indifferent to youth restiveness can pretend to be safe. Abandoning children to their own fate or to their own devices endangers the society that produces them.

Without a future, these young men can commit any evil in order to survive and feed their drug addiction. They are potential recruits for criminal gangs or politicians who use them to intimidate their opponents. Their hearts are hardened and so killing people or raping women means nothing to them.

We are sitting on a time bomb. These thugs rule the streets. They stop and attack people at dark corners and rob them of money, handsets and other items. If the victims resist, they won’t hesitate to kill them on the spot. These young men are the human debris of a dysfunctional society. We can only ignore this embarrassing spectacle at our own peril. It’s high time we stopped playing the ostrich as the danger looms large.

KANO APC DISPUTE : TINUBU INTERVENES FOR JUBRIN,REACHES OUT TO GOV GANDUJE

PUSH NEWS 24 INTERNATIONAL: May 6th, 2022

Asiwaju Tinubu Intervenes in Kano APC Dispute, Reaches Out to Governor Ganduje

All Progressives Congress National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has stepped in to resolve the local political squabbles between Abdulmunin Jibrin and key stakeholders in his constituency.

Abdulmumin Jibrin had announced his decision to leave the APC for an undisclosed party on Saturday.

Jibrin did not give any reason for his decision to quit the APC, sources say this was related to the decision not to give him the party’s ticket to return to the house of representatives.

There had been a crisis of confidence between Jibrin and Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, for some time over local political issues.

Jibrin had represented Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives between 2011 and 2019 before losing the rerun election to the People’s Democratic Party’s candidate in 2020.

Asiwaju Tinubu reportedly reached out to Governor Ganduje to reach a truce and ensure the unity withion the Kano State Chapter of the APC is not ruptured.

The source said Asiwaju Tinubu has already intervened on Jibrin’s behalf with Governor Ganduje and everything will be resolved.

“Jibrin is coming to see Asiwaju. Asiwaju has stepped in. Jibrin is having local issues with his constituency and Ganduje. Everything will be sorted,”

The embattled and suspended member of the House of Representatives representing Kiru/Bebeji constituency, Abdulmumin Jibrin, was expelled from his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday.

At an emergency media briefing held by the chairman of the party in Bebeji, Sani Kanti Ranka, along with other party executives from the area, it was revealed that Mr. Jibrin was expelled for several offenses, including allegations that he was trying to divide the party and sabotage the administration of Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

According to Mr. Ranka, other alleged offenses include Mr. Jibrin’s role in bringing forth a parallel party leadership in all 14 wards at the Bebeji local government level. He also alleged that the embattled representative committed “misconduct” at the party’s national level, adding that he had called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“All the offenses go contrary to the set rules and regulations of the ruling party, APC. The party set up a committee to that effect before taking this decision. But unfortunately for him, whenever the committee invited him to hear his own side of the complaints sent to him, he always refused to come,” Mr. Ranka said.

The expulsion letter sent to Mr. Jibrin reads, “The committee has submitted its report to the party based on these offenses. And we are informing you officially that from today, June 15th 2017, you stand expelled from our great party, APC. This decision is reached for us to allow peace to reign in our party. So also for the local government, the state and the nation to prosper.”
