BIAFRA PRIME MINISTER APPOINTMENT: OHANAEZE KICKS, CALLS SIMON EKPA “AN IGBO ENEMY”

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a socio-political group in the Igbo community, has publicly denounced Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed Biafra agitator who recently declared himself the Biafran Prime Minister.

Pushnews.com.ng reports that the Secretary-General of the group, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, stated on Tuesday that Ekpa and his associates could not compel the Igbos into another civil war.

In a statement, Isiguzoro labeled Ekpa as an adversary of the Igbo nation and distanced Ohanaeze from the establishment of a unity government.

The statement reads: “Ohanaeze worldwide views with great distaste and condemnation” the purported declaration by Simon Ekpa, leader of the Ekpa Killer Squad (Autopilots) as a “Biafran Prime Minister in Exile”.

“Indeed, this latest episode, an orchestrated attempt by the Finland-based Igbo enemy, who has made himself a ready tool in the destruction of Ala-Igbo can only be blamed on his “deliberate pampering” by the Finnish and Nigerian Governments after detailed reports of heightening terrorism from his Finnish base, including reports from a Finnish journalist, who was in Enugu this February to personally interview families of victims of his terror attacks, which he boldly affirmed on Finnish Television was presented to the Finnish Government.

“Ndigbo has rebutted and renounced in strong terms the formation of a purported Biafra Government in exile, by Simon Ifeanyi Njoku Ekpa who is seen as the greatest enemy of Ndigbo in the last 200 years and one of the most dangerous terrorists in Africa and operating from Finland, if the Nigerian Government fails to check this ugly development, Ekpa’s game-plan is to plunge Nigeria into another undeserved Civil War.

“Ndigbo are now given a standing order to capture Ekpa dead or alive, he must not be allowed to escape justice as the leader of the most dreadful killer squad in the Southeast whose sole aim is to destabilize the Southeast with his satanic agenda of leading another Civil War against Nigeria.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Ndigbo can never be pushed into fighting another war, regardless of the provocations of Ekpa and his paymasters who surprisingly are hurt by the ongoing fraternity existing between Ndigbo and their Yoruba siblings and are hell-bent on thwarting it.

“From declaring a 5 Day sit-at-home in the South-East during the Presidential election to the declaration of Sit-at-home in Lagos, Ekpa has only one agenda- the destruction of Ala-Igbo, to fulfil his paymaster’s political ambitions.

“Indeed, his latest drama is aimed at distracting the Labour Party, LP, Presidential candidate from the pursuit of his Pan-Nigerian mandate at the election tribunal by questioning his belief in Nigeria when his people are pressing on with Biafra and now have a “Prime Minister in exile.”

The group therefore called on both the Nigerian and Finnish Governments to expedite the extradition of Ekpa to Nigeria for prosecution on charges of crimes against humanity.

Push News 24 International has before now reported that The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, confirmed the appointment of Simon Ekpa as a reporter of Radio Biafra.

Emma Powerful, the Publicity Secretary of IPOB, confirmed Ekpa’s appointment in a chat with Newsmen.

Powerful disclosed that Ekpa was appointed to report for Radio Biafra like others due to his track record.

Powerful said: “Yes Simon is appointed to report on radio Biafra like others, the leadership went to his record and decided to appoint him a reporter on radio Biafra. We have many reporters on radio Biafra.”We had reported that following the rearrest and detention of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigerian Government, Ekpa was appointed to be in charge of the secession group media platform pending Kanu’s freedom.

As it is there EKPA seems to have taken over the Biafran struggle with his success on the sit-at-home proclamation in the SE, he appears to be in charge of the Biafran machinery.

IPOB MASS PROTEST IN ABA TURNS VIOLENT AS 10 PERSONS REPORTED KILLED – KANU’S LAWYER

Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, legal counsel to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has said about ten people were killed and over hundred were grievously injured during the group’s protest in Aba.

Push News 24 reports that members of IPOB, yesterday, 31st March, 2023 – held a peaceful protest in Aba, the commercial city of Abia State, calling on the federal government to obey the court order and release their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who has been in the dungeon of the Department of State Security Service, DSS, since June 2021.

During the protest, the IPOB members were dispersed by gun wielding security men comprising of Police and Military officers.

The protesters were shot at as protesters went berserk and resisted to halting the protest, according to a video which has gone viral on social media.

Over 10 Persons Were Killed, Many Injured During IPOB Protest In Aba, Says Kanu’s Lawyer, Ejiofor.

During the protest, the IPOB members were dispersed by gun wielding security men comprising of Police and Military officers. The protesters were shot at, according to a video which has gone viral on social media.

Reacting, Barrister Ejiofor said from all investigations, the joint Military and Police when we’re sent to disperse the protesters used lethal weapon and killed at least ten protesters, injuring over hundred. He queried why the protesters should be shot having conducted their Protest in a civil way. The legal practitioner went ahead to call on the Nigerian government to call the security men to order and begin an investigation into what he described as “Genocidal Massacre in Aba”.

A gut-wrenching and disturbing news broke yesterday, the 31st day of March, 2023, from Abia State, to the effect that the combined team of the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army and other sister security agencies, launched an unprovoked attack on innocent and unarmed citizens protesting the continued illegal and unconstitutional detention of our indefatigable Client – Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

During the bloody crackdown on unarmed civilians, over ten (10) persons were gruesomely murdered in cold blood, while over 100 persons were grievously injured by lethal weapons, and live ammunition used by these murderous security agents.

Very disheartening is also the fact that over one hundred and fifty (150) persons amongst the peaceful protesters were abducted, and swiftly taken to unknown location(s) by the security agents, who equally confiscated and took away the dead bodies of those they killed.

Unfortunately, the foregoing troubling/disturbing news have been verified to be true.

It is indeed not a coincidence that this dastardly act is being committed on our land when the international community, more specifically, the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) group has beamed their searchlights on the unabated killings of innocent civilians in the South-East by both state and non-state actors.

Yesterday’s unfortunate event/incident is a further confirmation of the fact that the appropriate institution/organization to classify/designate in the world Global Terrorism Index for their terrorist activities in the South-East, is the overzealous Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force and other sister agencies, which have repeatedly shown no restraint in their dastardly acts of genocidal massacre of unarmed/innocent civilians in the South-East, without due regard to the rules of engagement obtainable in a civilised society.

The event of yesterday, has also irresistibly pointed to the fact that – the Nigerian Soldiers, Nigeria Police Force and others – actively involved in these heinous crimes against humanity, are the actual culprits, and as such, we are calling on the International Community, responsible Foreign Governments and Institutions, to reign in on the Nigerian government to call their overzealous/lawless security agents to account for this obvious crime against humanity.

The Nigerian government must audit the details of these heinous crimes against unarmed civilians and genocidal massacre of citizens who are legitimately exercising their civil rights to protest and peaceful assembly as constitutionally guaranteed in Nigeria’s constitution.

The bloody crackdown on innocent and unarmed civilians is not only sacrilegious but condemnable!!! Hence, we are calling on the Nigerian Security agents to release the dead bodies of those they massacred during the bloody crackdown on innocent protesters yesterday, and also to unconditionally and immediately release the protesters they illegally abducted during the bloody onslaught.

This ethnic profiling, unprovoked attacks, bloody crackdown and genocidal killings of people from the South-East has gained more prominence recently, and continued unchecked, particularly, now that other non-state actors are involved in other states across Nigeria like Lagos; in the killing of Igbos and destruction of their properties, without being arrested or countered. We wish to reiterate our demand for the immediate release of those abducted during yesterday’s unprovoked bloody crackdown, as well as the release of the dead bodies of persons they massacred, to their respective families for proper burial.

Be assured that we must explore all legal remedies available to the victims in the circumstance of this grave infraction to seek appropriate legal redress before the law courts.

Enough is enough!!!

INSECURITY: SOUTH EAST TRADITIONAL RULERS AND BISHOPS APPEALS TO PMB

JOINT STATEMENT BY THE SOUTH EAST COUNCIL OF TRADITIONAL RULERS AND THE REPRESENTATIVES OF IGBO ARCHBISHOPS AND BISHOPS

Gentlemen of the Press,

  1. We, the South East Council of Traditional Rulers and the Representatives of Igbo Archbishops and Bishops, note with deep concern the high level of insecurity and socio-economic disruption in the South East Zone of Nigeria. This has deepened the hardships being faced by the citizens and rendered prostrate the socio-political and economic lives of our people.
  2. Flowing from similar initiatives taken to bring peace to other troubled parts of the country, we urge the Federal Government and other stakeholders to explore dialogue and negotiation in resolving critical issues that threaten national unity, cohesion and development.
  3. Accordingly, we refer to our earlier request for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to the South East Council of Traditional Rulers and the Representatives of Igbo Archbishops and Bishops and restate this call even more strongly. We are of the firm belief that this act of courage and statesmanship is not only imperative but will speedily de-escalate the heightened state of insecurity and dislocation in the South East Zone.
  4. We also urge President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) and the Federal Government to take immediate steps to de-proscribe the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and release all IPOB members being held in various detention facilities in Nigeria.
  5. We call on the Federal Government to take urgent steps to demilitarize the South East Zone, moreso as it has become apparent that a continued military siege on the region can only lead to heightened tension, skirmishes and endless bloodletting between the security agencies and our youths. It has become urgent, imperative and compelling to de-emphasize the military option and move towards finding a political solution that will lead to sustainable peace.
  6. We assert that heightened inequality and marginalization remain at the core of youth restiveness in our region. We urge our apex National Leadership to note that until it takes deliberate steps to run government on the basis of fairness, equity, justice and non-discrimination, this restiveness is likely to continue.
    We shall respectfully seek audience with Mr President to discuss these issues in exploring political solution and the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
  7. On our part, we assure our youths that we have heard their cries of marginalization, injustice and longsuffering. As concerned parents, we feel your pain. However, we urge you to de-escalate the tension and remain law-abiding to enable us to engage especially the Federal Government in finding a lasting solution to the crises.
  8. Consistent with the above, we urge IPOB not to do anything that would hinder or be seen to be hindering the smooth running of the forthcoming Governorship Election in Anambra State and to cancel all scheduled sit-at-home orders, as these have already caused untold hardship for our people.
  9. Finally, we call on all the candidates in the forthcoming Anambra State Governorship Election to eschew violence and commit to free, fair and credible election.

IPOB HAS NO LINK WITH BIAFRAN NATIONAL GUARD (BNG) – Emma POWERFUL

The social media space has been splashed with reports by the spokesman of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Emma POWERFUL over a release in respect to the recent activities of an armed group known as Biafran National Guard popularly called BNG which has been terrorist the South Eastern parts of Nigeria.

in the release as obtain by Push News International on the social media platform of IPOB, Emma POWERFUL was seen debunking any known links with the terrorist BNG.

IPOB HAS NO LINK WITH A GROUP KNOWN AS BNG

We the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our prophet and indefatigable leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU wish to alert IPOB families worldwide and the international community that we do not know of a group called Biafra National Guard (BNG) and should not be linked in any shape or form with this group whose activities do not correspond with IPOB’S fundamental objectives.

We have observed the unpatriotic and nefarious activities of this group and we hereby unequivocally dissociate ourself from the group and its activities. This group has no link whatsoever with IPOB and doesn’t work for IPOB. IPOB has nothing to do with any group associated with criminality. Our mandate is peaceful restoration of Biafra, anything other than this will have nothing to do with us.

Our leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU does not encourage criminality or any action injurious to the people of Biafra. We don’t encourage extortion or forceful collection of fuel and other lubricants from any petrol station in Biafraland. This is criminality that cannot be condoned in Biafra land.

IPOB also abhors hostage taking and demand for ransom which is a common characteristic of Fulani terrorists and Fulani Herdsmen and any group associated with such criminality in Biafraland will be resisted by IPOB.

Anybody or group caught in such barbaric act will be seriously dealt with. Some evil politicians are using criminaly minded elements to foment trouble in our land.

Media houses and members of the public should be properly guided to know that IPOB doesn’t share same ideology with any criminal or violent group. We are a peaceful movement seeking the restoration of Biafra republic.

Furthermore, it has come to the knowledge of this great movement that some unscrupulous elements and individuals are going around to politicians in Anambra State collecting money in the name of IPOB and comrade Emma Powerful our media publicity secretary saying that Emma Powerful sent them. We are letting politicians in Anambra State understand that neither Emma Powerful nor IPOB sent anybody to collect money on his behalf or on behalf of the movement. if you as a politician gave anybody money in the name of Emma Powerful go back and take your money from that person because I did not send anybody to do so.

From this period and onwards anybody caught with this act of sabotage will regret his life, IPOB is a decent movement with impeccable records since its inception and nobody uses our name for this kind of dubious life, if you are identified, sorry will be your name.

We understand that some people are still going to politicians contesting for governorship elections in Anambra State collecting money and claiming they will give to Emma Powerful. Be warned as you are being defrauded because Emma Powerful and IPOB did not send anyone on such ignoble errand.
