Lagos Trade Fair Business Community got a message of reassurance from former Minister of State for Defense, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro yesterday, who reiterated the commitment of the APC led administration in Lagos State to sustain strategic investment in infrastructure to bolster productivity, energise business growth and protect private investments regardless of tribal sentiments as been expressed in certain quarters of the State.

The Apex Leader in Badagry Division during an interactive dinner with the Organised Private Sector Business Owners in Trade fair, spoke of the state’s economic redistribution plans aimed at expanding the Lagos business district to suburbs in the western and eastern parts of the State.

The dialogue was part of the strategic stakeholders’ engagements initiated by the APC leadership to consult with all critical stakeholders and to keep business leaders and captains of industry in the loop of the comprehensive economic policies of All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Sanwo-Olu as the general elections approaches.

According to Obanikoro, the steady growth rate being recorded by the state economy testified to the efficient supervision and accountability process instituted in the management of the public finances by the Sanwo-Olu led government, hence, the need to consolidate on this achievements appeals to all stakeholders to vote the APC for a second term.

The GAC member also stressed that these foundation was laid by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who he described as the architect of modern Lagos and highly detribalized.

Speaking further, the Awori born politician said a Tinubu’s government at the Federal would give room to allow the private sector to thrive by not interfering unwittingly in its growth thereby opening rooms for progressive collaborations as evident during his eight years as a governor.

“Thus, where the private sector is doing well, a Tinubu’s government will not interfere. Our guiding principle regarding economic policy shall be to provide the right policy framework so that business can flourish.

“But we want to do more than help existing businesses to exist. We must create the space where new sectors and lines of business can open. We want to grow this economy so that businesses at the Trade Fair can accommodate of millions people with a decent standard of living and the needed international exposures”

“The APC government will collaborate with the private sector to bring about massive infrastructural renewal that enhance economic opportunities, lower business cost and overheads while producing jobs that spur further growth and development through increased consumer demand. This is the virtuous economic cycle we seek to create,” he added.

Obanikoro stressed that all tribes in Lagos State has enjoined peaceful co-existence and hopes that same collaborations will translate to electoral victories for all the APC candidates.

In his interactions with the media …APC stalwarts in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, Captain Adebayo Olaobaoluwaju Dosunmu lauded the various efforts by Sen Obanikoro to ensure the party victory is assured, noting that this efforts will go a long way to get the commitments of the voters in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency to ensure victory for the party.

The leadership and members of the Trade Fair Business Owners were elated at the planning and quality of discussions at the dinner which they agreed that it has in no doubt changed their perception about the upcoming general elections and would ensure victory for all the APC candidates so as to ensure the consolidation of their yearnings as business concerns.

CASH SWAP: LANRE SANUSI COMMENDS CBN INITIATIVE, HAILS SUPREME COURT RULING

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Candidate for the Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency in the February 25th, 2023 general elections, Prince Lanre A. Sanusi popularly called PLS has hailed the Supreme Court ruling against the CBN on the use of old naira notes.

Sanusi in a media chat described the decison by the court as timely and a reprieve for the masses who in the past few weeks have gone through some economic woes due to the effects of the naira policy swap.

While commending the CBN for such initiative to mop-up excess cash in circulation, he however said the timing and strategy to circulate the new notes were not carefully thought-out.

The apex court judgement annulled the Central Bank of Nigeria deadline of February 10 as the last date the notes would be acceptable.

A seven-man panel, ordered that the notes remain in circulation after Friday.

Three northern states, Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara, had, in a motion ex-parte filed on February 3rd, prayed the apex court to halt the Central Bank of Nigeria’s naira redesign policy.

The 7-man panel of the Supreme Court led by Justice John Okoro, in a unanimous ruling, granted an interim injunction restraining the FG, CBN, commercial banks etc, from implementing the February 10 deadline for the old 200, 500 and 1000 Naira notes to stop being a legal tender.

A statement by PLS commended the Supreme Court for displaying “remarkable insight and sensitivity” in the matter.

He said the justices proved that the courts are the last hope of the common man “when faced with policies that are not all inclusive and lacking the inputs of some critical stakeholders ”.

The Awori born Prince also thanked the All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftains, Governors Yahaya Bello, Nasir El-Rufai, and Bello Matawalle for taking the initiative to test our democracy.

It was truly a canival-like celebration of love for Amuwo Odofin homeboy, Prince Lanre Sanusi (PLS) by his Constituents when the Awori born Prince extraordinaire, who is also the 2023 All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representative Candidate for Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency marked his birthday like an open-air crusade on January 23rd, 2023 at the expansive extension of Kuje-Amuwo Royal Palace in Oriade LCDA, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos State.

The celebration which was expectedly marked amidst pomp and pageantry was a token of appreciation by his friends and associates to publicly show the acceptance of his candidature by the people at the grassroot.

The birthday celebration which was an open event without any form of discrimination was well attended by key stakeholders in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, – key political associates, royal fathers, youths , the markets, transport unions etc all made representions.

Prior to PLS day , several goodwill messages were pouring in from different well-wishers cutting across political divides and affiliations.

Some of the attendees described PLS as a visionary administrator and leader in recognition of the maturity and courage he has brought to Amuwo Odofin political scene. PLS was appreciated for his selflessness and patriotism in broadening the scope of his legislative mandate, taking into full consideration the voice of Amuwo Odofin residents.

According to a serving Councillor from a Ward in Riverine Area “the experience of the choice of PLS as APC candidate has helped to stabilize a lot in the APC House and prayed God to grant him more years of sound health and focus as he adventure to be at the helms of affairs at the Green Chamber.

However, the lawmaker urged him (Prince Lanre Sanusi) to sustain the tempo and momentum of his socio- political style, and promised support for positive and value adding motions that would transform lives of Nigerians.

A CDA Chairman from Amuwo Odofin LGA in his submission said that PLS vast experience in the private sector and in the global space will always be relevant in pursuing competence and excellence in governance.

A pro-Bola Tinubu political group led by key Amuwo Odofin stakeholders has declared support for the House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Lanre A. Sanusi (PLS).

The group recently through its convener, Citizens, Iko Modina and Student, who are notable grassroots influencers during their visit announced that they believe in the capabilities and competencies of the House of Representatives Candidate and will mobilise all their members to ensure victory for the APC in Amuwo Odofin.

A social media influencer, Iko Modina stressed that aside also ensuring special prayers their support will extend to other new media platforms where the stern qualities of PLS will be publicised.

The community influencers who stated that their members who are majorly the youths who cut across the eleven wards in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, has promised to embark on a massive campaign to sell the candidature of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Reps candidate, Prince Lanre Sanusi.

The movement said the youths and the electorate would be mobilised to ensure Sanusi’s ’s electoral success in the 2023 polls.

According to one of the leaders of the Group, Citizen, in his statement, he described the support the movement was giving to the APC candidate as a tsunami of support for Sanusi’s reps campaign.

“…the Movement is a formidable support group and it is the most organized grassroot group in the history of Amuwo Odofin electioneering process.” Citizen said.

On the sterling qualities of PLS Iko Modina said.

“His ideology which strongly believes in the vision and aspirations of the Nigerian Youths, has made it possible for the youths in FESTAC, Mile 2 and Oriade to conclude and take it upon themselves to mobilise support for Sanusi,” he said.

Student, in his own submission explained that the electorates and youths in particular would work assiduously to ensure the victory of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and PLS in the 2023 election.

“We are going to vote massively for them in this forthcoming Presidential and House of Representative elections.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Apex leadership in Lagos State has held a strategic stakeholders meeting on Monday with all the candidates of the party in the State.

The meeting which has the presence of key leaders was aimed at putting to rest the speculations by pundits that there is a huge crises over the declared winners of the primary elections. The meeting further established those who will be flying the parties flag in the general elections as INEC Form EC13D was giving to the declared winners of the party primaries.

The State Psrty Chairman, encourage the candidates to reconcile with other aspirants while stressing the need to mobilize for PVC.

He further admonished all about the cordial synergy between the 57 Executive Chairmen and the party, advising the candidates to take advantage of same.

Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, House of Representative Candidate, Prince Lanre A. Sanusi (PLS) who was also present at the stakeholders meeting, while speaking to the media appealed to all members of the party to join hands with the party candidates to ensure APC wins all her elections in Lagos State.

PLS stressed that in every contest one person will always emerge, and been magnanimous in victory should be the hallmark of any candidate as its only God that crowns.

Sanusi while commending the leadership of the party for upholding the outcome of the primaries, stated that such actions will further strengthen internal democracy.

The US trained professional tax and financial advisory expert used the occasion to reiterate his commission to members of his Constituency.

” My intension will be to revitalize, revamp, restructure and consolidate on activities that will address the socio-political advancement and economic needs of the people of AmuwoOdofin Federal Constituency” PLS said.

Push News 24 International reports that following the palpable tension arising from the primary of June 6th to 7th, pundits have predicted a crisis-ridden electioneeering process with consequent implosion, but like the outcome of the March 26 convention that was seamless despite all permutations to the contrary, the Apez leadership decided to wade in by strategizing with all stakeholders.

It was also gathered that the Party Chairman, having sensed the high level of emotion being brought to bear on the quest for the ticket in some quarters, decided to weigh in, to wield the big stick and the carrot at the same time.

The meeting also came on the heels of a statement jointly agreed by all stakeholders present to further hold alignment sessions with all aspirants, candidates and Executive Chairmen.

Attendance at the august meetings includes the three Senatorial Candidates, 20 Reps Candidates, 24 Assembly Candidates,

Others are State Party Excos, GAC Members, fmr. Chairman, Henry Ajomale, Prince Rabiu Oluwa, Party LGA Chairmen from 57 LGA/LCDA, Executive Chairmen of the 20 LGA’s and 37 LCDA’s amongst others.

2023 : GROUP CANVASSES POWER SHIFT, THREATENS TO SUPPORT ONLY ASPIRANTS FROM IKORODU WEST LCDA

With increasing momentum in Constituency 1 aspirations in Ikorodu Division of Lagos State, the leadership of political parties particularly the All Progressive Congress (APC) have been urged to allow power-shift to Ikorodu West LCDA for fairness, equity and progress. 

The Convener of the Steering Committee of Ikorodu West Concerned Stakeholder (IWCS), a socio-political pressure Group, Prince Olamilekan Ojo Martins, who was represented by the groups Director of Planning, Bar. Kayode Allison during a media briefing observed that it was time for a paradigm shift in favour of Ikorodu West which is a substantive LCDA in Lagos State. 

The former LGA Youth Leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) stated that IWCS was out to champion socio-political power rotation in Ikorodu Division for progress and equity and called on well-meaning stakeholders to support the crusade for good governance, equity and fairness espoused by the group stating that this will smoothen relationship among the different LGA/LCDA in the Constituency and allow for synergy and cooperation required to fast track development as practiced in other Local Governments Areas of Lagos State. 

Bebenlo as he is fondly called observed that since 1999 Ikorodu West LCDA which was at the forefront of electoral victories during the general elections have continuously been sidelined in the scheme of things particularly for elective post and appointments across board.  

 “The truth is that Ikorodu Constituency 1 stands on a tripod, Central, West and North, …Ikorodu West is usually giving minority rights in the Constituency political equation and IWCS is leading the advocate against all forms of socio-political marginalization in the Division”  

Martins stated that it behooves stakeholders to reason that after Central it’s the turn of West in 2023 to give a shot at the Lagos State House of Assembly. 

“There is need to understand the basic but common fact that, whatever is just to one, must not be injustice to another …that is in the spirit of fairness, equity and justice.” 

‘Ikorodu West LCDA has competent, capable and intellectually sound persons who can represent Ikorodu Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly and we will only propagate and support aspirants from this extraction” he said. 

On how they intend to achieve their objectives, the Convener said various representatives of the group have started reaching out to notable leaders and influencers, complimentary protest letters have also been forwarded to relevant members of the party leadership at the State while necessary awareness is ongoing part of which is the media parley. 

Push News 24 International can confirm that Ikorodu Constituency 1 is made up of Ikorodu Central, Ikorodu West and Ikorodu North. Record showed the chronology of occupiers since 1999, from 1999 – 2003 Hon Ola Animashaun (Ikorodu LG), 2003 – 2007 Hon Sunmi Odesanya (Ikorodu Central), 2007 – 2011 Hon SOB Agunbiade (Ikorodu Central), 2011 – 2015 Hon SOB Agunbiade (Ikorodu Central), 2015 – 2019 Hon SOB Agunbiade (Ikorodu Central), 2019 – 2023 Hon SOB Agunbiade (Ikorodu Central).  

Ikorodu West and Ikorodu North have been schemed out of this joint heritage.

In a Christmas message made available to the media on Saturday, Com Ayodele rejoiced with Nigerians, particularly Christians, on this year’s celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

He noted that it was very appropriate for citizens to reflect on the love of God aptly espoused in the teachings and lifestyle of Jesus Christ.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) Lagos State Organizing Secretary recalled that during His earthly sojourn, Jesus Christ repeatedly reminded his disciples and followers of the peace that comes in the midst of trials and tribulations on earth.
“There is no better time than now in our nation’s history and indeed Lagos State to pray for divine guidance to get over our current challenges at the local and federal levels.

“We can have peace in Nigeria if we all learn to tolerate and appreciate one another, respect constituted authorities; and be our brothers’ keepers in word and deeds,” he stated.

Adewale further called for special prayers for all the nation’s heroic citizens who paid the supreme price to restore peace and security in the North-East and other flashpoints in the country.
He assured that his immediate priority as a State Exco is to galvanize all party programs towards stimulating it’s implementation at all levels in Lagos State.

Prince Lanre Sanusi popularly called PLS, in a recent viral video, also felicitated with the Christian faithfuls in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.

Sanusi in a statement urged Nigerians to use the Yuletide to rededicate themselves to the service of humanity in line with the true teachings of Jesus Christ which emphasises selflessness, piety, brotherly kindness and love towards one another.

PLS an House of Representatives hopeful reiterated his commitment at ensuring that Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency regains its pride among the comity of Federal Constituencies through relevant and timely legislations come 2023. The Awori-born of Lagos State said the nation could only be out of the woods when the citizenry resonate the teachings of Christ.

“This is the season of love and forgiveness. It should not be seen only as just a merrymaking period but as a time to pray fervently for a peaceful and prosperous nation. As a nation, we have passed through series of challenges but the fact remains that we can only surmount our economic crisis if we stay united, extend hands of fellowship to one another and be law-abiding.
“We must also rededicate ourselves to the ennobling virtues of faith in God, love for one another, honesty and peaceful coexistence. It is time to make these virtues more evident and practical in our daily lives,” PLS stated.

The Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin LGA, Hon. Valentine Buraimoh (V.O.B), in his message sighted by Push News 24 International, urged Christians to walk in Christ’s footsteps of love and peace towards one another, their neighbours and to humanity as a whole.

The number one citizen of Amuwo Odofin noted that faithful adherence to the virtues of Jesus Christ, including love, unity, sacrifice and peaceful coexistence, which constitute the fundamental ingredients for development of any nation, will lead to the growth and stability of Nigeria.

In the goodwill message personally signed by the 2023 Lagos State Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1 Aspirant, OlaWestern, also asked Lagosians to always strive towards doing things that would further strengthen the unity of the State.

The philanthropist turned politician said the character of Jesus Christ, who is the main reason for the celebrations, should reflect in the life of every Christian.

“this period also calls for unity of purpose among Nigerians, citizens should be their brother’s keeper at all times.”

OlaWestern noted that Nigeria is passing through a lot at the moment but that with the prayers of the citizens and their support, the leaders would be able to provide good direction.

Similarly, former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Constituency 1, Amuwo Odofin, Hon Dipo OLORUNRINU aka Talk-and-Do, has congratulated all Nigerian Christians as they celebrate Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ.

In a message sighted online by Push News 24 International, the former Amuwo Odofin Chairmanship aspirant urged Christians to reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ, which entails love for neighbour, peaceful coexistence, and loyalty to constituted authority.

“On behalf of my family, supporters and constituents, I wish to sincerely congratulate all our Christian brothers and sisters in Amuwo Odofin on the celebration of the feast of Christmas, which marks the birth of Jesus Christ.

“As you celebrate, continue to pray for Amuwo Odofin LGA and reflect on the life of Jesus Christ, his humility, sacrifice, love for neighbour and loyalty to God and constituted authority,” he said.

Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Amuwo Odofin Constituency 2 (Oriade LCDA), Hon Wale Rauf, had called on Nigerians to use the celebration of the Christmas to be Peace Ambassadors, as the country is in serious need of continuous peace advocacy.

Rauf made this call in his Christmas Message to his constituents in Oriade LCDA, Constituency 2. In a statement he pointed out that though the country maybe facing serious challenges, especially on issues of security, and rising cost of living standard, there is still the need for all to pursue peace in their activities, knowing that the birth of Jesus Christ was to ensure humanity is saved and live in peace.

According to him, “We can overcome most of our challenges if we all fight the cause of a peaceful living, and association, as we are of God.”

We know that Christ came to bring salvation to the world. He came to redeem us. And in redeeming us, we must also show to our neighbours, that same love God showed to us, when he sent his only son for our sake to the world.”

“I know we are facing challenges from different fronts. Challenges of insecurity, COVID-19 pandemic with the continuous mutation of the virus to different strains, high rise in living standard, I however urge you not to loose hope, but trust that God who sent his only son for our sake, will not abandon us.”

The Convener of Nigeria Diaspora Project Committee (NDPC), Prince Olalekan Ojo Martins has criticized a travel ban imposed on the West African nation by the British government amid fears about the new omicron variant as “punitive, indefensible and discriminatory aimed at sinisterly tending towards recolonisation of Africans”

U.K. Health Secretary Sajid Javid on Saturday added Nigeria to the U.K.’s travel “red list,” which means that arrivals from there will be banned except for U.K. and Irish residents. He said there was a “significant number” of omicron cases linked to travel with Nigeria, with 27 cases recorded in England.

The NDPC Visionary stressed that the move by the UK is very “unfortunate” and “unfair” towards developing countries particularly when nations are expected to pull resources and strength to fight the new wave.

Push News 24 International gathered that the only people allowed to enter the UK from these countries are UK or Irish nationals, or UK residents.

Arrivals from red-list countries are required to enter hotel quarantine – at their own expense – and isolate for 10 days. These countries have been targeted because the Omicron variant was first identified in southern Africa.

But the fact all of the nations currently on the red list are African has been described as “wicked and unfair”.

But Nigerian authorities say they have not reported any new omicron cases in the country since announcing on Dec. 1 that they had detected three cases in travelers who arrived from South Africa.

According to Aare Ismail Adetunji who is based in Washington DC stressed that the British travel ban has no sciencetific backing and is very “unjust, unfair, punitive, indefensible and discriminatory,” .

“We continue to witness the humanising and unyielding actions/inactions of the actors who partook in the making of modern Nigeria but still holding the strings of progress”,

Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, is not considering imposing travel bans from any country now, Minister of Health Osagie Ehanire told The Press. Instead, it is focusing on ramping up surveillance and testing as it aims to “balance saving lives and saving livelihoods.”

The event was the 3rd Bola Ahmed Tinubu Mentorship Conference and formal inauguration of the National Executives of the National Coalition of Tinubu Support Groups (NCTSG), held at LTv, November 27, 2021.

The event also had the formal inauguration of the National Executives of the umbrella body responsible for coordinating the activities of all interest/ pressure groups promoting the ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for president of Nigeria in 2023.

Dr Doyin stressed further “It’s a known fact that Bola Ahmed Tinubu is an institution in Africa which all deep thinkers must learn from, the only leader in the entire West Africa countries who has the lineage of making direct young leaders in thousands”.
“You will agree with me that Bola Tinubu, my principal, mentor and role model and arguably the father of the modern politics in Nigeria, a bridge-builder, dogged fighter, a true nationalist, master strategist, the man of all season and the national leader of All Progressive Congress (APC) will definitely make a good president for Nigerians”.

The National Cordinator of NCTSG Nigeria and Diaspora, Professor Garba Shehu in his own submission described Asiwaju as “someone always wanting to pursuing and impacting with people with a visionary leadership style, he has doggedness, sincerity, uprightness, giving spirit and forgiving; The Yoruba Nation must be indeed lucky to have him”.

The event had Scholars, Statesmen and APC bigwigs in attendance, who spoke to the youths on “Mentoring for political Leadership”

The keynote speaker at the event was a member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Prince Rotimi Agunsoye.

Discussants includes the Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Mr Tayo Ayinde, General Manager of LASIMRA, Engr. Bisoye Coker, SSA on Budget & Project to Deputy Senate President, Hon. Nathaniel Dortie, Hon Dr. Hammed Yerima, former member of the Federal House of Representative, among others.
