TINUBU, BIDEN MAKES LIST AS WORLDS MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE, AS FOREIGN MEDIA EXTOLS TINUBU’S VIRTUES
From movie stars and athletes to CEOs and politicians, members of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world for 2023 are forces to be reckoned with.
American magazine, Time, has named President-elect, Bola Tinubu, among the 100 most influential persons across the world in 2023.
Speaking on how Tinubu merited the list, the magazine stated, “Winning an election in Africa’s most populous country is no easy feat. But Nigeria’s newly elected President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has had nearly two decades to prepare.
“Called Jagaban, or “leader of the warriors,” by his supporters, the now 71-year-old ran in a presidential election for the first time this March. His campaign slogan, “It’s my turn,” was a nod to his role as a longtime political power broker.”
Time, further delved into the past how the former Lagos governor fought military regimes to return democracy. Tinubu helped restore the country’s democracy in 1999 after fighting military rule and then served two consecutive terms as governor of Lagos,” it added.
Among top world figures that made the list is the President of the United States, Joe Biden. Also, both Paris Saint-Germain stars of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe made the list among sportsmen.
Each year our TIME 100 list lets us step back and measure the forces that move us. Which is more powerful, hope or proof? Ambition or altruism? The lessons of the past or the lure of the future? The people we spotlight range from the globally famous to the literally anonymous—we leave it to you to guess the true identity of author Elena Ferrante.
There are world leaders and local activists, artists and athletes, scientists, moguls and a number of people who are running for President of the United States.
One way or another they each embody a breakthrough: they broke the rules, broke the record, broke the silence, broke the boundaries to reveal what we’re capable of. They are seekers, with a fearless willingness to be surprised by what they find.
As Lin-Manuel Miranda, whose musical Hamilton just won the Pulitzer Prize, puts it, “What’s the thing that’s not in the world that should be in the world?
With less than two months to the 2023 presidential election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday told his opponents that they cannot defeat him with lies.
Tinubu also assured Muslim leaders in the country that he will offer fair and just leadership to all Nigerians if elected president.
Tinubu gave the assurance in a town hall meeting with Muslim leaders from the North West geopolitical zone in Kano.
He said: “Mean-spirited politicians – those thinking only of themselves or those who think they mean more than the nation itself – will go to great lengths to deceive or recruit eminent persons to unknowingly preach division and hatred.
“They cannot win with the truth. So, they will try to win with a lie. But a lie never wins in the end. Those they cannot beat with honesty, they seek to beat them with untruth and falsity. They want to turn servants of God into preachers of division and hateful sentiment.”
On expectations from him if elected president, Tinubu reminded the faith leaders of his record as Lagos State governor.
He said: “I promise to be a fair and just leader. This pledge is based on the Islamic teachings on leadership. A leader in a plural society is enjoined to be a leader for all. If elected, I shall govern in harmony with our nation’s democratic Constitution.
“More than that. I shall tackle this nation’s problems with a commitment to solving them. I say this not as a boast. I say it based on my record. As Lagos governor, I assembled perhaps the most diverse team by any state government. That team was based on competence, not tribal this or regional that. It was not based on the attire one wore or the accent one spoke with, but on the quality of one’s ideas and contributions to society.
“If given the chance by Almighty Allah, I will operate in the same spirit of inclusiveness and innovation in order to renew the hope of our people. My highest priorities shall be the protection of our land and prosperity of its people.”
Its no longer news that there have been overwhelming support for the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for 2023. Several persons and institutions have not hidden their affection for the former Lagos State Governor to clinching the number one public office in Nigeria.

The Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has expressed satisfaction on All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Bola Tinubu’s leadership qualities and his brilliance in party politics and political strategy, noting that his foresight helped in positioning Lagos State among city of reference across the world.
While acknowledging the APC national leader’s contributions to task of nation building, the monarch said that the respected politician’s trajectory, particularly his developmental politics has been a point of reference to players in Nigeria’s political arena.

Addressing politicians from the northern region who came to pay him homage and seek his support for Tinubu presidency ahead of 2023 presidential election, the traditional ruler noted that with principle of justice and fairness, Tinubu was deserving of any position in Nigeria, including the oval office.
The Emir who prayed for the visiting delegation, agreed with the principle of fairness which he claimed should ordinarily have no objections to the former governor’s scores of achievements and extraordinary devotion to nation building.
The monarch stated that the beauty of democracy was that it gives room for every Nigerians to vote and be voted for, adding that if a politician of Tinubu pedigree appear on the ballot papers, such development would give citizens the needed options to choose who to lead them based on achievements.
Earlier, the northern politicians, under the aegis of Arewa Organizations Movement for Asiwaju (AROMA), said that they were at the Kano Emirate to seek the monarch endorsement and blessing for Tinubu as race and politicking for 2023 presidential election intensifies.
The politicians who spoke through AROMA Convener, Hon. Kabiru Ahmed, said that the visit was part of grassroot mobilization for the APC national leaders across the northern region to facilitate smooth victory for him during the 2023 election.
Ahmed, who is also Lagos state’s Commissioner of Water Front, explained to the Emir that the purpose of the groups’ courtesy visit was to inform the monarch about his group’s conviction that the ideologies upheld by Tinubu has been widely accepted throughout the country, adding that such should spurred the needed support for him to succeed Buhari in 2023.
He remarked that the Emirate in Kano being the revered stool to all Northerners was entitled to have the information on first hand basis as a hallmark of respect for culture heritage. The event was underpinned by the notable personalities in attendance who had endorsed AROMA through the respective executive structures of the various groups in the 19 states.
